AP wire–April 15, 2154

Vancouver, British Columbia

In a hastily called press conference, Vancouver police admitted a dangerous offender escaped from the locked psychiatric ward at Vancouver General Hospital. Around 9 p.m. a nurse discovered a naked, unconscious orderly in the inmate’s room. Hospital security locked down the facility but a thorough search failed to find him, leading to speculation that he simply walked out of the hospital dressed as an orderly despite having been under guard and handcuffed to his gurney.

The inmate is Native, 218 lbs., 6 feet 1 inch tall. The public is warned not to approach him under any circumstances and to call police immediately if he is seen. Police suspect he will stay in the Lower Mainland.

A serial rapist who kidnaps his victims, he holds them hostage for a period of a week during which they are repeatedly sexually assaulted. His last victim died of her injuries. His previous victim has been confined to a psychiatric hospital for 14 years. She is not expected to recover. Police suspect that he will attempt to find another victim.
